Responsible gambling — the tools, the limits, and where to get help.
Every UKGC-licensed casino is required to provide working safer-gambling tools inside your account. This page explains what each tool actually does, how to switch it on, and who to talk to in the United Kingdom if gambling stops being fun.
Built-in account tools
Every UKGC-licensed operator we list provides the same core set of safer-gambling tools. They are usually grouped under “Account”, “My limits” or “Safer gambling” inside your profile.
- Deposit limits — set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much money you can move into the casino. Increases take effect after a cooling-off period; decreases are immediate.
- Loss limits — cap how much you can lose in a defined window. Once reached, the cashier blocks further play until the period resets.
- Session reminders — a pop-up showing time and net result every 15, 30 or 60 minutes of continuous play.
- Time-out — pause your account from 24 hours up to six weeks. The account cannot be reopened early.
- Self-exclusion — close your account at the operator for between six months and five years. UKGC operators must honour the request.
When gambling stops being fun
Most people gamble for entertainment without it becoming a problem. Some don’t. These are the most commonly recognised early warning signs:
- Spending more time or money on gambling than you planned.
- Chasing losses by depositing again to try to win them back.
- Feeling restless, irritable or low when not playing.
- Hiding play, deposits or balances from people close to you.
- Borrowing money — formally or from friends — to keep playing.
If any of these sound familiar, please pause and reach out to one of the free, confidential UK services below.
UK support services
These four organisations are independent of any casino operator. Their support is free of charge, available across the United Kingdom, and confidential.
Pick the route that suits you.
GAMSTOP closes accounts at every UKGC-licensed operator at once. GamCare and BeGambleAware focus on advice, conversation and longer-term support. The UK Gambling Commission handles formal complaints against an operator.
Protecting under-18s
Online gambling in the United Kingdom is for adults aged 18 or over. If a child or young person uses a device you also play on, free filters from Net Nanny and CyberPatrol can block gambling content at a system level.
Never share your account credentials. Never let someone under 18 deposit, play or claim a bonus on your account — UKGC operators are required to confiscate winnings in those circumstances.

We use a small number of strictly functional cookies to remember your age-gate acceptance and your cookie preference. We use a privacy-respecting analytics service to count anonymous traffic — no personal advertising profiles are built on this site, and we do not sell visitor data.
Outbound clicks to operators may be tracked by the operator’s own affiliate platform so that signups can be attributed back to CrownSpinLab. That tracking is governed by the operator’s own privacy policy, which you can read on their website before creating an account.
